Load testing is one of the most important factors in maintaining the life and reliability of your generator.
In essence load testing is a means of simulating a power failure on the generator, without effecting the day to day running of your business.
Whilst many customers are able to prove their generators on the load of the building, we always recommend pushing the generator to its maximum potential at lease once a year.
This has the effect of improving the performance of an engine in much the same way as your car performs better when given regular long trips.
Most generators are brought for standby use and so much of their time is spent idle.
But a word of caution to those who run their generators off load, for long periods.
It is not sufficient to run the generator once a month off load, as doing so will, over time cause deposits to build up within the engine and inevitably costly repairs later down the line.
By load testing your generator you are provided with a full report on the performance of the set and where necessary, details are given to ensure that any corrective work is carried out to protect the reliability and the possibility of any future costly failures in the set.
