These engines are specially built for power generation applications at 1500 or 1800 rpm.
Gas engines use a fuel which is generally cheaper than liquid fuels and are therefore often called upon to operate for many thousands of hours in continuous duty applications. For this reason, the Quantum range of engines is based on diesel engine blocks with the inherent strength implied. Although a gas engine uses a compression ratio more akin to that of a petrol-fuelled engine, the strong construction of a diesel engine, (strong because of the higher compression ratio usually used), will allow the engine to run for long periods before overhaul.
Although a wide range of options can be added, these engines are built to provide a simple, economic, though durable solution to local power requirements anywhere in the world.
They are fitted with modified cylinder head, lower compression pistons, electronic ignition systems and electronic governors for close speed control and fast reaction to load changes
The base engines offered here are to a "radiator-to-flywheel" specification consisting of:-
Dependent on power output offered, engines are naturally aspirated or turbocharged, with the higher powered units also fitted with mixture intercoolers. Alternative gaseous fuels may be used, after consultation. Biogas will require higher gas feed pressure.
The engines are supplied on timber pallets.
A wide range of options can be included:-
The Quantum engine can be supplied into a complete generating set, built by our associated company, Beaver Power Ltd.
